four killed in separate road accidents in raj
Barmer/Pali, May 29 -- Four people were killed in three separate road accidents across Rajasthan's Barmer and Pali districts, police said on Wednesday.
"At around 10.15 pm on Tuesday, a tractor was rear ended by a tempo and a car on National Highway-68 near Dugeron Ka Tala village. The impact caused the car to veer into the path of an oncoming Scorpio, resulting in a devastating head-on collision," said Narendra Singh Meena, Barmer superintendent of police.
He said that the deceased have been identified as Bharat Bhai and Kalaji Bhai, both residents of Patan, Gujarat. "The deceased were part of a group of devotees travelling to Ramdevra. They succumbed to their injuries during treatment," he said.
In another incident on Wednesday morning, one man, identified as Ravi Bhai, died when the Scorpio carrying him along with four devotees from Rajkot, Gujarat, to Ramdevra collided with an Eicher truck on NH-25 near Kawas Zero Point overbridge in Barmer district. Nagana SHO Jameel Khan said that the crash occurred around 7.40 am. "The impact caused the Scorpio to lose control, flip multiple times, and plunge approximately 10 feet off the overbridge onto the service road below."
In a separate incident in Pali district, a 70-year-old Jain monk, Acharya Pundarik Ratna Surishwar, was killed after being hit by a speeding mini-truck during a spiritual vihar (walk) near Jadan village. The incident occurred around 6.30 am on Wednesday. The mini-truck fled the scene after the collision....
