four held for gang rape of woman in banswara distt
Udaipur, Dec. 25 -- Four people were detained on Tuesday in connection with the alleged gang-rape of a woman in Banswara district on Monday night, police said on Wednesday.
According to Banswara deputy superintendent of police Gopi Chand Meena, the survivor filed a complaint on Tuesday, in which she alleged that she was travelling with a relative on a motorcycle near Danpur village panchayat when they were intercepted by a gang of eight to ten people, who allegedly assaulted the relative, before abducting her and taking her to a secluded spot, where they allegedly took turns to rape her.
The survivor was sent for a medical examination, wherein doctors confirmed the gang-rape, said the DSP, adding that six accused were identified, out of which four were detained and the other two absconding.Efforts are on to identify and arrest the remaining accused.The case was under Section 70(1) of the BNS, he said....
