Four arrested for smuggling 103kg drugs near MP border
Jaipur, Aug. 28 -- A man posing as an army jawan from Madhya Pradesh was among four people who have been arrested by the Jhalawar police for allegedly smuggling over 103 kg of smack in Rajasthan, officials said on Wednesday.
Jhalawar SP Amit Budaniya said, "A team of Jhalawar's Dag police station, on Tuesday night, stopped a truck at a check-post near the MP border which was full of iron rods. Truck driver Zaheer Khan (35) and his companion Vinod Sharma (28), both the residents of Jhalawar, were arrested on the spot. "Meanwhile, the police also stopped another four-wheeler that was escorting the truck carrying the consignment. Police arrested two more people - Pirulal Malviya (34) from Rajgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Anwar alias Annu (29) from Jhalawar's Jhalawarpatan - from the car," Budaniya added.
He further said that an ID card of the Indian Army was recovered from Peerulal. "He was also trying to threaten the police with his identity. We are suspecting that more people could be involved in the case and it could be a part of a larger interstate smuggling gang. We are questioning the accused, further probe is underway," he said....
