Jodhpur, July 24 -- Governor Haribhau Bagde, who is also the chancellor of MBM University, urged students on Wednesday to recognise the importance of technical education in nation-building. He stressed that education shouldn't be confined to merely obtaining a degree but should instead foster a sense of responsibility towards society and the country. "The youth must not limit their technical knowledge solely to employment, but to utilise it for innovation, entrepreneurship, and public welfare with a nation first mindset," Bagde said while addressing the university's second convocation ceremony. He also noted the participation of female students as a positive sign for women's empowerment, and lauded the university's "Vidyadaan" (education donation) tradition as an exemplary initiative for making education universally accessible. A total of 717 undergraduate degrees (32 B.Architecture and 30 MCA), 117 postgraduate degrees, and 7 PhDs were awarded at the ceremony. Additionally, 16 students received gold medals. Deputy chief minister Premchand Bairwa, the special guest at the convocation, reiterated that technical education serves as a means for not only personal growth but also for social and national advancement.
