Jaipur, Sept. 13 -- Rajasthan will celebrate its first-ever "Ghoomar Festival 2025" in Jaipur on November 15, officials aware of the matter said on Friday. Preparations for the mega event were reviewed at a meeting by Jaipur collector Jitendra Kumar Soni on Thursday. He directed officials to ensure timely and effective arrangements so that the festival becomes a grand symbol of Rajasthan's cultural heritage. Tourism department's joint director Punita Singh said the Ghoomar festival will not only be a celebration of folk culture but will also send a strong message of women empowerment. Deputy director Upendra Singh Shekhawat informed that Chitrakoot Stadium, Polo Ground and Bhawani Niketan College Ground are being considered as the main venues. Registrations for participants will open on the tourism department's online portal from September 15. Groups of up to 20 participants from various institutions will be allowed to register, and each registered group will be given an incentive of Rs.500. The department will also launch an official festival song, while workshops will be held from November 9 to 13 in the run-up to the event. Soni said the tourism department will oversee arrangements for tents, lighting, sound, decoration, and photography, while transport facilities will be provided for school and college participants. Essential amenities like drinking water, sanitation, electricity, and toilets will be ensured by Jaipur Municipal Corporation, PHED, and JVVNL. Adequate police force, medical teams, and emergency services will also be deployed. Food stalls, souvenir shops, and other facilities will be set up at the venues. To review preparations and coordination, a special jury will be constituted.
