Farmers soul of India, their empowerment is vital for progress: CM
Jaipur, Jan. 23 -- Farmers are the soul of India, with the progress of villages, the state, and the nation hinging on their empowerment, Rajasthan chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said on Thursday.
"Farmers are the soul of India and the progress of villages, the state, and the nation depends on their empowerment," he said. The state government, he added, "is continuously fulfilling the promises made in its election manifesto and remains committed to the welfare and prosperity of farmers."
Addressing a programme in Sirohi for the transfer of funds under the chief minister Kisan Samman Nidhi and the launch of Gram Utthan Camps, Sharma announced that from 23 January (Basant Panchami), such camps will be organised at every girdawar circle across Rajasthan. He appealed to farmers and livestock rearers to participate in large numbers and avail themselves of benefits under various welfare schemes.
The chief minister recalled that two years ago on this day, the consecration of Ram Lalla was performed in Ayodhya under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, fulfilling a decades-old demand and honouring India's cultural heritage. He also noted that the 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' campaign was launched by the Prime Minister from Panipat on the same day to promote women's empowerment.
Sharma said the state government is working with dedication for the welfare of all sections, including the poor, women, youth, and farmers. To ensure last-mile delivery of government schemes, Gram Utthan Camps are being launched across the state.
At these camps, approvals will be provided for schemes related to fencing, diggis, pipelines, farm ponds, sprinklers and drip irrigation systems, plastic mulch, and solar pumps. Applications under the Mukhyamantri Krishak Sathi Sahayata Yojana will also be disposed of on the spot.
In addition, services such as applications for solar pumps, Kisan Credit Cards, new Custom Hiring Centres, livestock registration under the Mukhyamantri Mangla Pashu Bima Yojana, animal vaccination, registration of dairy cooperative societies, distribution of ownership cards, repair of canals and drains, registration under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, and water conservation works under the Vande Ganga Jal Sanrakshan Abhiyan will be undertaken.
