Barmer/Pali, April 3 -- In a shocking and gruesome incident, a 65-year-old woman was brutally murdered in Pali district, with her legs severed by the accused in an apparent attempt to steal jewellery. The victim's body was discovered in a dry pond on Wednesday night around 8:30 PM in Karadi village under the Marwar Junction police station area. According to SHO Rajendra Kumar, the deceased has been identified as Pyari Devi, wife of late Ramlal. Her blood-soaked body bore deep wounds on the neck inflicted by a sharp weapon. Both her legs had been severed, and jewellery worn on her ears, neck, and feet was found missing. Police suspect that the assailants first slit her throat to kill her and then attempted to remove the silver anklets she was wearing. When they were unable to take them off, they allegedly cut off both her legs with a sharp weapon and fled with the ornaments. The victim was reportedly wearing around half a kilogram of silver anklets, gold earrings, and a gold pendant, police said....
