Udaipur, July 9 -- Tensions erupted in Chittorgarh after an under-construction temple was vandalised by unknown miscreants triggering protests by the locals on Tuesday, police said, adding that Section 163 of the BNSS has been imposed in Dungla jurisdiction. Deputy superintendent of police Deshraj Kuldeep said that an under-construction Shiva temple on the Dungla-Bhanakhedi road was reportedly vandalised on Monday. "The police received information about the incident at around 6.30am on Tuesday. By 8am, hundreds of people had gathered at the Dungla bus stand, demanding immediate action and arrest of the culprits. By 9.30am, the Udaipur road was completely blocked, leading to a traffic jam on both sides. They burnt effigies and tires at the Dungla bus stand and other locations," he said. Following this, sub-divisional magistrate Ishwar Lal Khatik imposed BNSS section 163 in Dungla.
