Dummy candidate racket busted, 3 held
Jaipur, June 7 -- Three doctors were arrested after Rajasthan Police busted a racket involved in roping in dummy candidates to secure medical admissions in National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG examination, police said.
According to police, the matter came to light after officials found discrepancies in the admission of a student in AIIMS Jodhpur.
Police action was initiated following a complaint from the National Testing Agency, which revealed the candidate had paid Rs.60 lakh to the accused to send a dummy to take the test.
Jaipur Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Amit Kumar said, "A report was received from the National Examination Agency New Delhi regarding NEET UG exam 2020 that Ajit Gora's photo was used in place of Sachin Gora to apply for the exam."
"A dummy candidate was made to sit in place of Sachin in the exam and scored 667 marks and on this basis Sachin Gora took admission in AIIMS Jodhpur for MBBS course whereas a person named Sachin Gora never appeared for the NEET exam," he added.
He said that while investigating the matter, the police team caught Sachin and Ajit Gora and interrogated them. It was revealed that the accused is currently a student of MBBS final year AIIMS Jodhpur Medical College.
