Barmer, Feb. 24 -- Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) and Barmer police have busted an illegal drug manufacturing factory in the Sedwa area, marking the fourth such unit unearthed in the district this month, officials said on Monday. The latest operation was conducted by the Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) in coordination with Sedwa Police. Acting on specific intelligence inputs, the team raided a secluded location at Sihanr village on Sunday. The factory was operating covertly amid sand dunes, officials said. During the raid, a huge quantity of MD drugs, 150 litres of chemicals stored in eight drums, and manufacturing machinery were recovered, police said. One accused, Adam Khan, 47, has been detained so far, while a joint search operation is still underway to trace other members of the network, police said. Confirming the development, Barmer superintendent of police Narendra Singh Meena said the action was taken in a joint operation. The SP said, "Sedwa police received information about an MD drug manufacturing factory operating secretly in the Sedwa area. Based on this input, the Barmer ANTF team, along with Sedwa Police, carried out a raid at the site. During the operation, MD drugs, chemicals, and machinery used in the manufacturing process were seized. One accused has been detained and further investigation is underway"....
