Alwar, May 24 -- A detailed project report (DPR) for rejuvenation of the Ruparel river will be done by November, union minister Bhupendra Yadav said on Friday. Central Minister and Member of Parliament from Alwar, Bhupendra Yadav, while speaking to Hindustan Times, reaffirmed the government's commitment to the river's revival. "We promised to ensure the rejuvenation of the Ruparail River. The first meeting to prepare the Detailed Project Report (DPR) was held yesterday, and a November deadline has been set for its completion. I will personally monitor progress to ensure timely completion," he stated. Highlighting his broader vision, Yadav added, "Ensuring potable water for all is my commitment to the people of Alwar." He also emphasised that the Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal-Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (PKC-ERCP) would secure water access for the entire eastern Rajasthan region. "We will not stop until we've fulfilled our mission of ensuring water for all," he affirmed. The Ruparail River, which originates from the Udaynath Ji Hills in the Sariska region and flows to the Sikri Dam in Bharatpur, stretches 114 kilometers. Bharatpur MP Sanjana Jatav also voiced her support for the initiative, noting the severe water crisis being faced by people due to the river's depletion. She commended the administration's initiative and pledged financial support from her MP fund if required. Social activist Anoop Dayama explained the geological challenges in Alwar, stating that rock layers begin 70 feet below ground, which restricts percolation of water from tanks and anicuts. He pointed out that the Ruparail River's deep natural water channels could play a pivotal role in groundwater recharge. "Reviving these channels could restore medicinal plants that once thrived here, such as Kala Chara and Sindoor trees, which have since vanished," Dayama added....
