Jaipur, May 12 -- Rajasthan Congress president Govind Singh Dotasra on Monday attacked chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma over the delay in the Yamuna water project after the chief minister's meeting with Union Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil in New Delhi on Sunday. In a post on X, Dotasra accused the BJP government of failing to make progress on the Yamuna water agreement signed between Rajasthan and Haryana despite nearly two-and-a-half years passing since the Memorandum of Understanding was signed on February 17, 2024. In a post on X, Sharma had said the discussions focused on the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission in Rajasthan, the Ram Jal Setu Link Project, and the Yamuna water agreement, along with other major irrigation and drinking water schemes. Dotasra recalled that during the first session of the assembly, CMSharma had claimed that a joint Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the Yamuna water project would be prepared within four months of the MoU and work on the Shekhawati drinking water project would begin soon after. "Twenty-nine months have passed, but neither has water reached Rajasthan nor has the project moved forward. Even the DPR has not been prepared so far," Dotasra alleged.
