Jaipur, Nov. 1 -- Rajasthan Congress president Govind Singh Dotasra launched a blistering political attack on the BJP and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), accusing them of undermining democracy and running the state government by proxy. He said the RSS, despite not seeking votes or being accountable to the people, was "controlling governments and acting as if it had been elected by the public." Addressing a prayer meeting and floral tribute event at the state Congress headquarters in Jaipur on the occasion of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi's death anniversary and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's birth anniversary, Dotasra said Rajasthan had effectively been turned into a "Union Territory," where nothing moves without the Centre's approval. "The bureaucracy is ruling the state without fear or accountability. Even the chief minister and ministers are being ignored, and the condition of the common people has become pitiable," he said. Drawing a contrast between past and present leadership, Dotasra recalled Indira Gandhi's decisiveness, saying, "There was a time when she refused to even speak to the US President and divided Pakistan into two parts through a bold military operation. But today's Prime Minister has succumbed to American pressure and halted Operation Sindoor against Pakistan." He urged Congress workers to follow the ideals of Indira Gandhi and Sardar Patel, emphasizing the need for courage, discipline, and determination in confronting what he called the "anti-democratic" policies of the BJP-led central government. Dotasra accused the BJP of "stealing votes" to seize power and imposing an undeclared Emergency in the country. "Anyone who criticises the government - whether a journalist, a citizen, or an opposition leader - faces cases or harassment through ED, CBI, or Income Tax raids. This is an assault on constitutional freedom," he said. Targeting the state government, Dotasra claimed that law and order in Rajasthan had collapsed under bureaucratic dominance. "Earlier, the DGP's word carried weight, but now multiple DGPs have been appointed one over another, creating chaos. The Chief Minister makes no independent decisions - he acts only on parchi (slips) coming from Delhi," he alleged. He also claimed that BJP leaders had lost credibility among their own cadre. "When ministers visit the field, even five people don't come to meet them. People, including BJP workers, have lost faith that their genuine issues will be resolved," he said. "All major contracts are being handed to Gujarat-based companies or those loyal to the Delhi Durbar. Ministers are colluding to grant these without transparency," he charged. Commenting on the issue, BJP spokesperson Laxmikant Bharadwaj said that to promote his politics of appeasement, Dotasara is maligning the RSS, which has been working for public welfare for the past 100 years. He added the Congress chief is making baseless allegations out of frustration, as the condition of the state and the country during the Congress regime is no secret. He said the party is performing remarkably well under Sharma....
