Did what Cong couldn't in 5 yrs in one: Sharma
BARMER/BALOTRA, July 6 -- Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, while addressing a public gathering during the inspection of a Jan Seva Shivir held under the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Antyodaya Sambal Pakhwara in Padru town of Balotra district, launched a sharp attack on the previous Congress government, accusing it of inaction and poor governance.
"The previous government only made announcements without allocating budgets. But our government ensures that whenever we make a promise, we back it with a proper budget and deliver results," Sharma asserted.
"In the past few years, people have witnessed the misgovernance of Congress. What Congress could not achieve in five years, we have accomplished in just one and a half years," he added.
Sharma said, "You were distressed by repeated paper leaks during the previous Congress government. But under our government, not a single paper has been leaked. This is the strength of a double-engine government - a government led by the BJP."
Taking a jibe at the opposition, the chief minister said, "Whenever I talk about data and figures, Congress leaders feel the pain - and rightly so. They spent their time relaxing in hotels. Now they criticize me, saying this Chief Minister is always on the move - does not stop during the cold, the heat, or even in the rain. Let me remind them, I am a farmer's son, and a farmer never waits for seasons to work."
Sharma said that both the BJP led government at centre and in the state are tirelessly working for welfare of the poor. Sharma said, with the coming in power his government has announced to make Rajasthan a BPL free state.
"He added that Rs.300 crore has been allocated for the first phase of the campaign, aiming to eliminate BPL status from 5,000 villages. In the next phase, another 10,000 villages will be covered."
He added that Prime Minister Modi believes in empowering four key sections of society-youth, women, farmers, and workers. And both the BJP led government at centre and in the state are working for overall development of these sections.
Sharma emphasised that the government is always committed to addressing the problems of farmers, labourers, mothers, brothers, and sisters.
Speaking about the ongoing public service camps, he said, "These camps are being organized with the sole purpose of delivering government welfare schemes to the last person standing in the queue."
Discussing key concerns like electricity, water, animal husbandry, roads, clean drinking water, health, and employment, Sharma instructed officials to focus on practical solutions - such as cleaning water tanks, repairing electric lines, removing grass around transformers, and vaccinating livestock before the monsoon season.
Sharma said water and electricity remain the most pressing development needs in Rajasthan. "Our government has already initiated work on major projects like the RCB scheme, Yamuna water agreement, Dewas scheme, Brahmani river project, and the Indira Gandhi Canal," he said....
