KOTA, June 18 -- The Covid-19 pandemic and lockdowns among other things have hit the Kota Doria saree trade in Kaithoon town of Kota district, bringing misery for the handloom artisans.

"Covid-19 has taken toll on traditional Kota Doria manufacturing in Kaithoon. The raw material for the sarees comes from other cities of the country, while the manufactured sarees are sold in south Indian cities and metros. So, the entire work of manufacturing and selling of Kota Doria sarees has been adversely affected," said Nasruddin Ansari, president, Kota Doria Handloom Federation.
