COps: At least 490 illegal B'deshi nationals living in Raj identified
Jaipur, May 13 -- The Rajasthan Police has identified at least 490 Bangladeshi nationals since April 30 who have been staying in the state illegally over the years as the department launched a special campaign against the illegal foreign nationals, said officials familiar to the matter.
Director General of the Rajasthan police's Intelligence unit, Sanjay Agrawal, said, "The drive was launched on April 30 since when we have identified 490 illegal Bangladeshi nationals after checking their documents and sent to the detention centres. We are taking preparations to deport them. Thousands of suspects were questioned and underwent document verification."
The intelligence unit is monitoring the process from the headquarters in Jaipur while the district police superintendents and the Jaipur commissioner were assigned to form their teams, police said.
"First the teams are identifying some areas where the Bangladeshi nationals are residing at a good number following which they are collecting some documents related to their citizenship including the Aadhaar Cards. Those are being detained whose documents are suspicious and need further verification. The detained people are being kept at the detention centres," said Agrawal....
