cops: 25-year-old interstate dacoit held in dholpur
Bharatpur, Dec. 8 -- A wanted dacoit, who abducted a pregnant woman from Madhya Pradesh, was arrested on Sunday in Dholpur, police said.
According to police, the accused was identified as 25-year-old Yogi alias Yogendra Gurjar, resident of Morena in Madhya Pradesh, and a member of dacoit Lukka alias Dharmendra Gujar's gang.
On being informed, police teams conducted raids in the forest of Virja village under Angai police station. Police recovered two illegal weapons and 16 live cartridges from his possession, Dholpur SP Vikas Sangwan said.
On October 8, he abducted a pregnant woman from his village Gurja after firing at her in-laws in Gwalior district, police said, adding she was rescued after two days.
"Dholpur and Madhya Pradesh police had declared a reward of Rs.50,000 on his head. He has been an interstate miscreant with at least 19 cases registered against him in police stations across Dholpur and Madhya Pradesh," Sangwan said, adding he will be presented before court and police will seek his remand for interrogation. htc...
