Jaipur, Sept. 10 -- The cooperation department will launch a state-level "Sahkar Membership Drive" from October 2 to 15 with the aim of expanding the reach of cooperatives and bringing more youth and women into the cooperative movement.
Principal secretary and registrar of Cooperative Societies, Manju Rajpal, while reviewing the preparations through video conferencing on Tuesday, directed officials to make wholehearted efforts to achieve the set targets.
As part of the drive, around 8,600 Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) in the state will organize special camps where five key activities will be conducted. These include receiving applications and membership fees for the formation of new PACS and issuing approvals, spreading awareness about the provisions of the proposed new Cooperative Act, running targeted membership campaigns for youth and women in PACS and dairy cooperatives, completing e-KYC and Aadhaar seeding of pending applications under the PM Kisan scheme, and identifying land for the construction of new warehouses. htc...
