Udaipur, May 2 -- A constable died when the police vehicle carrying an accused from Gujarat was hit by an unidentified speeding vehicle on the Gogunda-Pindwara Highway on Thursday, police said. Gogunda police station in-charge IPS Probeshner Madhav Upadhyay said that the incident took place near Krishna Kanhaiya Hotel in Khakhri village on Thursday morning. "The team from Bhilwara district's Begun police station was returning with an accused from Gujarat when the incident occurred. An unknown vehicle fled the scene after the crash. Due to the accident, constable Devnarayan Gurjar from Begun Police Station died on the spot, while ASI Basilaal, constable Sunil, driver Balwant Jat, and the accused, Alfaz Mansuri, sustained serious injuries," he said. "Upon receiving the information about the accident, the emergency services, including highway patrol teams local police, and ambulance staff, rushed to the site. With the help of villagers, the injured were rescued and transported to Udaipur District Hospital. The condition ofone of the four injured is critical. The deceased constable's body has been kept at the Gogunda hospital mortuary," he further said.
