Cong worker held for Delhi CM post
Ajmer, May 2 -- A local Congress worker in Ajmer district was arrested on Thursday night after he allegedly made an abusive remark targeting Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta and her parents in a Facebook post, police said.
Additional SP of Ajmer city, Himanshu Jangid said, "The dispute began after a Congress IT cell member in Ajmer, Piyush Surana, allegedly posted objectionable remarks about the Delhi CM on Facebook. The post went viral, drawing reactions from BJP leaders and workers, who termed the comment offensive and disrespectful. An FIR was also filed at the Civil Lines Police Station by local BJP unit based on which we arrested Surana."
When the accused reached the station, angry BJP workers allegedly threw ink on him. Police personnel intervened immediately.
"Following the development, the Congress unit has also now lodged a further FIR against a woman BJP leader who threw ink on him inside the police station during a demonstration. The SP Harshvardhan Agrawal directed to shunt three cops of the Ganj police station. Investigation is on," said Jangid.
The accused claimed his account had been hacked and denied posting any objectionable content, police said. Congress city president Dr Rajkumar Jaipal said, "The accused was earlier IT Cell incharge and now not holding any post. However what was posted is not correct."htc...
