Jaipur, Aug. 14 -- Congress's Rajasthan unit on Wednesday held a protest march in Jaipur against the alleged discrepancy in voter lists maintained by the Election Commission across the country. The party's state unit held a foot march from the Congress state office in Sansar Chandra Road to the Shahid Smarak. Former chief minister Gehlot and former deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot joined the rally along with leader of opposition Tikaram Jully, Congress state president Govind Singh Dotasra, and other key leaders. The rally took place a week after Rahul Gandhi, in a press conference in Delhi, alleged that the Election Commission included lakhs of fake voters during the Karnataka Lok Sabha election and Maharashtra assembly election. "Voter lists had been corrupted in every recent election. It is happening everywhere and Rahul Gandhi has now given evidence. The Election Commission must answer to his allegations. But it is the first time when the EC is not giving a single answer to the public. Many media houses even raised similar allegations and asked for data from the commission but they denied," said Ashok Gehlot. He added, "The situation is really serious in India. Over 60 lakhs voters have been deleted during the SIR process in Bihar. Nobody knows how many have been added and in what way. They are doing this drama for the first time. This rally is a message to the EC and the government." Pilot said, "EC should take necessary action and clarify what happened in the voter lists. It is an independent agency and they should not buy into the government's words. Gandhi has given proof. Why are they sending the government to answer? They, themselves, must appear before the public." Dotasra said, "BJP has gained power across the country through vote theft, which also includes seats in the state of Rajasthan - Bikaner, Kota, and Jaipur. Congress party is demanding digital data of voter list from Election Commission, but it is not giving it but Congress leaders are trying to expose this vote theft in Rajasthan." Reacting to the development, BJP spokesperson Laxmikant Bharadwaj said, "Congress, itself, has a history of 'Vote Chori'. It is only the BJP government led by Narendra Modi who established democracy in true meaning. Gandhi is a leader who has already been cancelled by the public and Congress leaders are following him. This is the reason that party will be finished."...
