Committed to empowering differently abled, says CM
Jaipur, Aug. 9 -- Chief minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Friday emphasised that specially abled individuals were an integral part of society, and their equal participation was essential for building an inclusive and sensitive community.
Addressing the 'Vishesh Yogyajan Behan Samman Diwas' organised at the Social Justice Complex, Jaipur, Sharma said the state government was committed to empowering the differently-abled and was consistently working with them at the centre of its development policies.
He said the government was striving to fulfill the vision of Antyodaya as envisioned by Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya and Dr BR Ambedkar. Appealing to the people of the state, he urged everyone to uphold the principles of Integral Humanism and perform their civic duties by helping those in need.
"The festival symbolizes the sacred bond between brothers and sisters, built on love, trust, and protection. "As your brother, I am committed to ensuring your safety, dignity, and equal opportunities," he added.
The chief minister highlighted several steps the government has taken to promote women empowerment and inclusive growth. He said the recently introduced Equal Opportunity Policy 2025 aimed to provide equal opportunities for specially-abled individuals across the state.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, the amount given to women on the birth of their first child has been increased from Rs.5,000 to Rs.6,500. Additionally, specially-abled pregnant women are being given Rs.10,000. The monthly pension for widows, single women, and specially-abled persons has also been increased to Rs.1,250.
Social justice and empowerment minister Avinash Gehlot said that under CM Bhajanlal Sharma's leadership, the goal of Antyodaya was being actively pursued.
He announced that a Swayamsiddha Centre of Excellence would be developed in Jamdoli in a phased manner at a cost of Rs.200 crore.
The CM also handed over digital hearing and learning kits to specially abled children. He planted a sindoor plant on the premises and interacted with all the girls, encouraging them to protect the environment.
He also distributed motorized tricycles to the specially-abled and appreciated the handmade products created by children from the state-run Intellectual Disability Home, visiting their exhibition and encouraging their efforts.
The chief minister also approved a project to set up a state-of-the-art bio-CNG plant at the Muhana fruit and vegetable market for the management of organic waste.
The plant will scientifically treat the daily organic waste generated from fruits and vegetables and convert it into compost and bio-CNG.
The project will be developed under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, with the entire cost of Rs.27 crore to be borne by WAPCOS Limited, a Government of India enterprise. The plant will process 100 tonnes of organic waste daily and produce 5 tonnes of compost and bio-CNG. It is expected to be constructed within seven months....
