Cold wave conditions grip parts of state, rainfall likely tomorrow
Jaipur, Dec. 30 -- Cold conditions prevailed across most parts of Rajasthan on Monday, with Fatehpur in Sikar district recording the lowest minimum temperature in the state at 3.5 degrees Celsius. According to the Met department, cold wave-like conditions are expected to persist in several areas.
Dausa recorded a minimum of 4.5 degrees Celsius, while Alwar registered 4.8 degrees Celsius. The mercury dipped below 10 degrees Celsius in several places - Sikar at 5 degrees, Mount Abu and Pali at 5.1 degrees each, Pilani at 6 degrees, and Churu at 6.3 degrees. Jhunjhunu recorded 7.1 degrees, while Karauli saw a low of 6.8 degrees.
Night temperatures stood at 8.8 degrees in Chittorgarh, 9 degrees in Bhilwara, and 9.3 degrees in Jaipur. Jaisalmer registered 10.4 degrees, followed by Kota at 11.1 degrees, while Barmer recorded a minimum of 12.6 degrees. The department has forecast light rain or drizzle is likely in parts of the Bikaner, Jodhpur and Ajmer divisions, as well as the Shekhawati region, on December 31.
