Jaipur, Oct. 6 -- Chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Sunday called teachers the true architects of the nation's future and underscored their pivotal role in shaping a self-reliant and value-driven society. Inaugurating the 9th national convention of the Akhil Bharatiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh (ABRSM) at Keshav Vidyapeeth, Jamdoli, he said the organisation has, since 1988, been a force in nurturing cultural nationalism and instilling character among youth. From sweeping reforms in recruitment exams and free education for farmers' children to fee waivers, scholarships, and technology support for students, Sharma highlighted his government's "historic steps" in education while unveiling new plans such as foreign language schools to prepare Rajasthan's youth for global opportunities. The CM said, "Education in the interest of the nation, teachers in the interest of education, and society in the interest of teachers" - is realised. Sharma said that the state government has carried out historic reforms in the education sector in Rajasthan. "Our government has established transparency in the examination system, whereas the previous government was only known for paper leaks," he remarked. He added that the state aims to provide government jobs to 400,000 youth in five years, of which nearly 91,000 have already been appointed. The CM announced that from the academic session 2024-25, the state government has waived off the fees collected in government colleges under the state fund for children of small, marginal, tenant farmers, and agricultural labourers. "This decision reflects our commitment to empower the last person standing in society," he said. In addition, fee waivers, scholarships, and special provisions have been introduced for children from deprived sections. Sharma said to enable talented youth to secure jobs abroad, the state will soon establish language schools. Under this initiative, examinations in various foreign languages will be conducted within the state. He added that the government has distributed 1,051,000 bicycles and provided 88,724 meritorious students with free tablets with internet connections, enabling youth to become self-reliant....
