Jaipur, Oct. 6 -- Chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Sunday flagged off 128 modern, fully equipped Blue Line buses of the Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC) in Jaipur. He also launched the new rural transport service 'Apni Bus-Rajasthan Roadways' and introduced on-seat catering facilities in Volvo, Scania, and AC buses. Under the initiative, 128 new buses have been allocated across 23 depots to strengthen safe and accessible public transport in the state. The 'Apni Bus' rural service, based on a revenue-sharing model, will operate on 357 routes, directly benefiting 169 gram panchayats across 25 rural routes. These buses, fitted with deluxe seating, will extend government-approved free and concessional travel benefits, improving access to education, healthcare, jobs, and other essential services in villages. In a first, passengers in Volvo, Scania, and AC buses will be served food and beverages at their seats, with meal options available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner-bringing bus travel closer to train and air travel standards....
