CM okays Rs.1k-cr for repair of govt properties hit by floods
Jaipur, Nov. 1 -- Rajasthan chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has approved Rs.1,012.92 crore for the immediate repair and restoration of government properties damaged due to floods and heavy rainfall across the state, an official release from the CM's office said.
The funds will be used to repair 50,288 public assets, including roads, bridges, dams, anicuts, health centres, schools, Anganwadi buildings, and other government structures.
Over Rs.294 crore will be allocated to Public Works Department (PWD) for the repair of 14,212 roads and 1,161 culverts. The water resources department will receive over Rs.19 crore for 902 assets, while Rs.12.80 crore will go to the medical department for repairing 681 damaged health facilities, the release said.
A major share of Rs.487 crore has been earmarked for the education department to repair 24,531 properties, while Rs.173 crore will be utilized to restore 7,911 Anganwadi centres under the Women and Child Development Department. Additionally, Rs.19.39 crore has been sanctioned for 873 Panchayati Raj buildings, and urgent repair work will be undertaken for 17 assets of the public health engineering department.
The sanctioned funds cover 41 districts. Jaipur district tops the list with Rs.60.57 crore approved....
