CM must address basic problems, says Gehlot
Bharatpur, June 23 -- Former chief minister Ashok Gehlot said on Sunday that the BJP government must "change the priorities" and "look into basic problems of people".
Gehlot,who was on his way to Agra from Jaipur to attend the death anniversary of late MP Nihal Jain, talked to the media at Bharatpur railway station.
Commenting on the law and order in the state, he said, "Children are getting raped, people are getting kidnapped and murdered. What is not happening? The CM (Bhajanlal Sharma) must worry about it. People expect him to look into these things."
He added, "I would say to the CM that he must work hard, but he must change his priorities as well. There is chaos. There are frequent power cuts and water-related problems. The CM must look into the basic problems of people."
"Drives like 'prashasan gaon ke sang' were beneficial to complete pending works of people and the CM must reintroduce such drives," Gehlot said.
Responding to his remarks, Govind Singh, BJP panchayati raj president of Bharatpur district, said, "Gehlot should see the condition his party was in when he led the previous Congress government. BJP government is transparent. The CM focuses on law and order and other problems like water supply and all types of criminals are being arrested these days."...
