Civil service aspirant killed in hit-and-run, driver absconding
Jaipur, Dec. 11 -- A 23-year-old civil service aspirant from Churu was killed and another was injured on Tuesday night when a speeding car crushed four vehicles on a narrow lane in Jaipur's Barkat Nagar.
Bajaj Nagar SHO, Punam Chaudhary said, "The victim was a native of Churu and had been preparing for Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) at Jaipur for the last few years. On Tuesday, he was returning from Churu where he attended his sister's wedding 15 days ago."
At around 11pm, his train reached the Jaipur station from where he booked a two-wheeler from an online cab portal to reach his PG.
"Near Barkat Nagar, a car suddenly approached from behind at 80-90 kilometre per hour and hit four vehicles including victim Sunil Kumar's two wheeler," SHO Chaudhary said.
"Rest of the vehicles were parked at the roadside and therefore nobody else was injured. However, Sunil and his driver were rushed to the hospital where he was declared dead. His driver is still undergoing treatment," he said.
Meanwhile, the driver fled with his car and is still absconding. "An FIR of negligent driving was lodged against the car owner, Om Prakash. However, he was not behind the wheel when the accident happened. Police are searching for the culprit," the officer added....
