Jaipur/Barmer, May 29 -- Rajasthan is among the four Pakistan-bordering states in India, that will exercise another drill on Thursday weeks after Operation Sindoor, officials said on Wednesday Rajasthan home and civil defence secretary Anand Kumar said: "An order was received from the central government to conduct a drill in Rajasthan on Thursday. It will be exercised across all districts like it was done during the first mockdrill a day after Operation Sindoor on May 7. A 15-minite blackout will also be exercised at 8pm. Rest schedules for the exercises in the districts will be announced on Thursday morning." "We have already issued an order to all the districts to take necessary preparations for the drill on Thursday. The civil defence team has also started making all the arrangements. During the drill, sirens will sound, and emergency response systems will be tested," he further said. Rajendra Singh Champawat, additional district collector in Barmer, said: "We have received directions from higher authorities regarding the civil defence drill, which will be conducted tomorrow around 5 pm. This drill will be larger in scale compared to the previous nationwide drill held on May 7." The last drill was performed in 28 cities. The heightened focus comes after the terrorist attack in Kashmir's Pahalgam on April 22 led to a retaliatory Indian airstrike on May 7, code named "Operation Sindoor"....
