Jaipur, Dec. 22 -- The Union ministry of new and renewable energy (MNRE) has recognised the state's initiative for transparency in the power sector, terming it as best practice and recommending its adoption by other states across the country. The MNRE has appreciated the transparent system implemented by Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited (RVPNL) and issued directions to all State Transmission Utilities (STUs) to regularly place information related to surplus transmission capacity available for power connectivity at state grid substations in the public domain. Rajasthan's model has been specifically cited as an example in this decision.
