Beyond the bangles, other pieces of art speak of Bengal's rich past. The choker necklace, a vintage design crafted in silver with a radiant gold polish, sits close to the neck, capturing the regal elegance of Bengal's royal heritage. Similarly, the Kolke Pata necklace, inspired by intricate Victorian leaf patterns, offers a divine statement of grace along with taira tikli especially in reference to the traditional hair band-style versions together.
For a truly queen-like aura, the Kaan Pasha earrings are a must-have. These traditional earrings are often studded with gems and are designed to cover the entire ear, making a bold, royal statement for the festivities. It's for all who want to avoid heavy dangling earrings.
"Intricate gold necklaces and pendants are a staple, often featured in layered jhumko (jhumka) sets that exude luxury and tradition. As Shakha Pola, chur (a broad single piece bangle or bracelet) mainly in gold too remains favourite for many new brides," explains Pooja Jain, gold-siver, jewellery designer based in Mumbai.
Jewellery designer Soma Chakraborty adds, "The terracotta has been used for jewellery making from the day we started making Durga Maa idols. The only thing is it has bounced back with all heart. The pieces carry a natural and earthy aesthetic be it terracotta and fabric jewellery both have surged in popularity. These eco-friendly, rustic pieces can add a cultural touch to any festive outfit, offering a unique and artistic flair."...
