Buzz in state after Raje, Sharma call on PM Modi
Jaipur, July 30 -- Rajasthan's political landscape witnessed a sudden surge in activity as two of the state's most prominent BJP leaders-former chief minister Vasundhara Raje and current CM Bhajan Lal Sharma-met Prime Minister Narendra Modi within a span of 24 hours in New Delhi.
Raje's unexpected visit to the national capital on Monday, followed closely by Sharma's meeting with the PM on Tuesday, has triggered intense speculation within political and bureaucratic circles in Rajasthan.
While Raje remained tight lipped of her 30-minute meeting with the PM, Sharma expressed heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the people of Rajasthan, he praised the Prime Minister's visionary leadership and continuous support.
He said that under PM Modi's dynamic leadership, India has reached new heights over the past 11 years and emerged as a leading nation on the global stage. Rajasthan, too, has been overcoming developmental hurdles over the last one and a half years and is steadily progressing under his guidance.
Highlighting the efforts of the "double-engine" government, Sharma said the BJP-led Centre and State are committed to transforming Rajasthan into a model state - one where every farmer, youth, woman, the poor, and the marginalised can live a life of dignity and realise their full potential.
The Prime Minister, he added, assured enhanced support to Rajasthan in the coming time, for which the entire state conveys its deep gratitude.
In his close to 40 minutes meeting with the PM, he informed that justice is being ensured for farmers, youth, women, the poor, and the marginalised in the state. The state government is working with its full capacity to ensure a life of dignity for its citizens. The benefits of central and state government schemes are being delivered to the people in a timely manner.
The Rajasthan government has cracked down on the paper leak mafia, and the law and order situation in the state is very stable. Strict action is being taken against organised crime through the Anti-Gangster Act, said the CM.
He expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for the central government's continued support for various ongoing projects in Rajasthan.
Sources indicate that the meetings may have involved discussions around ongoing political reshuffles and cabinet expansion. Some party insiders even suggest that internal dynamics within the Rajasthan BJP unit may have prompted high-level consultations.
The dual visits have come amid growing murmurs about reshaping party leadership roles and a potential return to prominence for Vasundhara Raje, who remains a mass leader with significant influence across various factions in the state. Political experts also see these meetings as of efforts to fill the political vacuum in the state following Jagdeep Dhankhar's resignation from the post of Vice President....
