Boy dies by suicide, kin allege murder
Jaipur, Oct. 15 -- A 14-year-old student who attempted suicide in Jawahar Navodaya School's hostel last week in Sikar died in Jaipur late Monday night, police said, adding the body has been sent to the mortuary.
The SHO of the Patan police station, Vidhyadhar Sharma, said, "The incident took place on October 9. He arrived in the school at 11 am but left for hostel few minutes later to bring some books. However, the hostel guard recovered him hung from the ceiling fan at 11.30 am."
According to the police, the school authority including the principal immediately rushed him to the local hospital from where he was further referred to the JK Lon Hospital in Jaipur.
"However, they did not inform the police. We were informed next day when the authority said he attempted suicide. Upon receiving the information, we went to his hostel room to examine the spot and found that the authority washed the curtains and bedsheets. Yet, we found some blood samples that the principal claimed to be spots of fresh paint," said Sharma.
He added the family members claimed there were some injury marks on the victim's body and that an FSL report is awaited.
