Bharatpur, Nov. 25 -- A BJP worker was arrested on Monday for allegedly murdering his younger brother after a domestic quarrel escalated into a physical confrontation on Sunday evening in Sikar district, police said. The incident took place in Tarapur village under the Dadia police station's jurisdiction, they added. According to superintendent of police Praveen Nayak, the accused, identified as Mukesh Kumar, 30, allegedly attacked his younger brother Shravan Kumar, 25, after the latter returned home under the alleged influence of alcohol and began quarrelling with other family members. Nayak said that according to the complaint filed by Surendra Kumar, the eldest brother, Mukesh allegedly stabbed Shravan thrice in the throat. Shravan was rushed to the district hospital after police were informed, he added, where he was subsequently declared brought dead. The family has four brothers, added the SP. He said that the complaint as well as preliminary interrogations suggested that Shravan was suffering from problems with substance abuse. He will be produced before the court on Tuesday, after which police will seek his remand for further interrogation, said Nayak. A case was filed against him under section 103 (murder) of the BNS, he said, adding that the accused was a member of the BJP's state-level committee handling the government's cooperative membership campaign.....
