Jaipur, Nov. 28 -- State BJP president Madan Rathore on Thursday unveiled the new party executive, whose composition indicates a decisive decision to reduce the role of elected representatives in party affairs, with only two MLAs being inducted and several senior ones dropped. The 34-member team prioritises organisational workers, with nine-vice presidents, four general secretaries, seven secretaries, one treasurer, one joint treasurer, one cell-in-charge and seven spokespersons. Bagru MLA Kailash Verma and Viratnagar MLA were inducted as spokespersons. Party insiders confirmed the organisational shift, saying that many current MPs and MLAs may now be accommodated in the cabinet or through political appointments. Several prominent leaders failed to find a place in the state executive. These include Rajya Sabha MP Chunnilal Garasia, MP Damodar Agarwal, Tizara MLA Baba Balaknath, MLA Jitendra Gothwal, former Rajya Sabha MP Narayan Panchariya, former minister Prabhu Lal Saini, and former MPs CR Chaudhary, Sardar Ajaypal Singh and Motilal Meena. The previous executive had 10 vice-presidents. This time, six new faces have been brought in-former minister Surendra Pal Singh TT, Biharilal Vishnoi, Chhagan Mahur, Hakru Maida, Alka Mundra and Sarita Gena. Nahar Singh Jodha, Mukesh Dadhich and Dr Jyoti Mirdha have been retained and reappointed as vice-presidents. Several leaders from the earlier team have been promoted. Former secretaries Bhupendra Saini and Mithilesh Gautam were made general secretaries. SC Morcha president Kailash Meghwal has also been promoted to general secretary, while ST Morcha president Narayan Meena has been elevated to secretary. Rathore has also trimmed the number of general secretaries from five to four. Only one leader from the previous panel-Shravan Singh Bagdi-has been retained. In a major structural shift, for the first time the executive now includes posts such as spokespersons, media in-charge, IT in-charge and social media in-charge. Traditionally, the executive consisted solely of vice-presidents, general secretaries, secretaries, treasurer and joint treasurer. The inclusion of communication and technology wings aims to accommodate more leaders within the formal organisational structure, said party insiders. However, the new list has not pleased everyone. A senior BJP leader, reacting sharply, said the executive "will not last long," claiming that "those chosen have no connect on the ground and the list has failed to achieve social engineering."...
