BJP to launch outreach campaign from Dec 12
Jaipur, Dec. 8 -- On the completion of two years of the government in Rajasthan, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is all set to take out a mass outreach programme to take people's suggestions and prepare their action plan for the remaining tenure.
According to people in the party, the decision has been taken during a meeting with the new office bearers of the party chaired by chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and state party president Madan Rathore at the Rajasthan BJP office in Jaipur on Sunday.
"It was planned that a 13-day mass reach out programme will be carried out from December 12 to December 25 when the party workers from each of the 200 constituencies will take out a chariot along with a "Sujhav Peti" (suggestion box). They will ask the people for their opinions over the last two years of governance and also suggestions for the future," said a senior office bearer who attended the meeting.
"Although the rest of the logistics of the campaign is yet to be laid out, we will review all the suggestions after the campaign and will make a detailed action plan for the government and the party for our remaining tenure," she added.
A fresh state executive committee of the party was announced on November 27 comprising nine vice presidents, seven general secretaries, seven secretaries, seven spokespersons, and other office-bearers including social media in-charge, media-in-charge, and IT cell managers.
"During the meeting CM has briefed the office-bearers how to reach out to the people and strengthen the foundation of the organisation at the ground level. This was a formal meeting. He has also directed us to maintain proper coordination between the party and the government," she said.
CM Sharma and Rathore on Sunday held a meeting in the morning with the state office bearers while the second meeting was with the social media teams in the afternoon. In the evening, they had also chaired another meeting with district presidents, former legislators, mayors, and other key leaders.
After the meeting, CM Sharma said, "Building a core team of workers, and an ecosystem of constant self-evaluation of the responsibilities are two key aspects to form a stronger party organisation.
