BJP hails Centre's announcement of ceasefire with Pak
Jaipur, May 11 -- As the India and Pakistan declared ceasefire on Saturday, the state president of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Madan Rathore, said that the Indian government would have never let Pakistan go at this stage of the conflict unless they could ensure that the terrorists involved in the Pahalgam terror attack on April 26 will surrender.
In a video statement, Rathore said, "I heard about the ceasefire from television channels that both the countries have had a talk and decided to implement ceasefire. We are yet to get details from our leadership. But I hope that it happened on the condition that Pakistan will be free of terrorists. India would have not let go at this stage if they could not ensure that the terrorists involved in the Pahalgam terror attack will surrender."
He further added: "I am hopeful that India has put this condition that Pakistan will neither run any terrorists' organisation nor train any of them. Our leadership decided that it will give a suitable reply to Pakistan and destroy the backbone of any terrorism. It must be these conditions based on which they agreed for terrorism."
Hailing the policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rathore also said, "I am sure PM has kept his words. He had made conditions to finish any terrorism. We will now live a peaceful life. Ceasefire is good. But there should have never been any situation of war at all."
Meanwhile, the Rajasthan chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma held an all-party meeting on Saturday afternoon to discuss the security measures at the bordering districts of Rajasthan amid the escalating tension between India and Pakistan.
During the meeting, CM said, "The safety of the country and the people is the first priority of the state government. We are analysing the situation and taking important decisions to ensure all the arrangements. It is very important for the government to get the support of all the parties in this."
Extending their support for the government, the Leader of Opposition, Tikaram Jully, said, "We had already decided to stand by every decision of the government during the time of conflict. We also conveyed the same during the all-party meeting today. We are happy with the decision of the ceasefire. But it is yet to see what the conditions are, based on which the government took the decision."...
