Jaipur, May 27 -- Governor Haribhau Bagade on Monday highlighted India's ancient scientific achievements and said that mathematician Bhaskaracharya had described the concept of gravity centuries before Isaac Newton. "India has always been far ahead of the West in terms of knowledge, but the English education system has continuously distanced us from our own wisdom," Bagade said while addressing a convocation ceremony of a private university in Jaipur. "The mathematician had explained the concept of gravity long before Newton. It was India that gave the world the knowledge of the decimal system, which enabled the world to learn counting," he further said.
