Beniwal alleges collusion between Cong, state govt
Jaipur, Oct. 30 -- Former chief minister Ashok Gehlot and chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma are working together within the state, Nagaur MP Hanuman Beniwal alleged on the seventh foundation day of the Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP).
"I used to say that Gehlot is colluding with (ex- CM of the previous BJP government) Vasundhara Raje, But, his recent statements make it clear that he is also hand-in-glove with CM Bhajan Lal Sharma. It may be his plan to become the CM again," said Beniwal addressing a rally in Bikaner.
Slamming the chief minister, he further added: "I heard that Bhajan Lal keeps forgetting everything that he says in the day. If he continues for two more years, Rajasthan will become a state like Uttar Pradesh. Vasundhara's ruling was 18% of 'Popa Bai''s administration. But Bhajan Lal's ruling is 100% puppet."
Cornering the government for the deteriorating law and order situation, he said, "Youth and farmers are upset with this government. Anti-social activities are rapidly rising. Criminals are not scared of anyone They can threaten even the CM."
Beniwal also vowed to remove Sharma from his post in the upcoming assembly election. "The entire country knows how Bhajan Lal joined the party and what he has done to satisfy the leaders. He has removed me from the party (from BJP in 2018). I promise that the RLP will remove him from this state."
He said that the BJP-led government betrayed the people of Rajasthan while the Congress has failed to execute the role of a strong opposition.
"Since the BJP came to power, Rajasthan's development has been stalled for the last two years as the chief minister is irresponsible. BJP has betrayed the people. Meanwhile, Congress has also failed to execute the role of a strong opposition. RLP will not stop till we establish the pride of the farmers and youth in the state assembly," Beniwal said.
Taking a swipe at the BJP, he said, "BJP promised to nab all the paper leak culprits and stop any such cases further. However, the paper-leak mafia are still dominant in the RPSC. Many ministers and their family members and also Congress leaders and their relatives are involved. But, the CM cannot act against them. He is a puppet of the central leadership."
"BJP promised in their manifesto that a fair investigation will be conducted in the SI-2021 paper leak case. Now, when their SIT was pushing to cancel this paper considering a large level scam from RPSC's end, the government opposed it," he added.
Beniwal launched a sharp attack, declaring that his party has waged a relentless battle for people's rights "from the streets to the Parliament." Positioning RLP as a true voice of public struggle, Beniwal said the party stands apart by putting people before politics - raising issues of farmer debt, youth unemployment, education, and healthcare that both the ruling BJP and Congress have failed to address.
Meanwhile, Congress spokesperson Swarnim Chaturvedi, said, "Gehlot is a three-time CM of Rajasthan while Bhajan Lal is the 'parchi' CM of BJP who has no say in the administration. Gehlot is constantly raising issues against the BJP government. He doesn't need to collude with anyone."
