Biikaner, Nov. 4 -- An Army jawan was allegedly stabbed to death on board the Sabarmati Express by coach attendants as the train was approaching Bikaner late on Sunday night, police said on Monday. Government Railway Police (GRP) station house officer Anand Kumar Gilla told HT that the victim, identified as Jigar Kumar - a soldier from Gujarat - had boarded the train from Firozabad in the AC 3-tier coach and was travelling to his hometown in Sabarmati. During the journey, a dispute reportedly broke out between the soldier and the coach attendants, which turned violent when one of them attacked the soldier with a knife, said Gilla. The assault occurred between Lunkaransar and Bikaner stations, he added. The injured soldier was immediately rushed to the PBM Trauma Centre in Bikaner, where doctors declared him dead on arrival, Gilla said. Three coach attendants allegedly involved in the attack have been detained for questioning. Following the incident, senior Army officials reached PBM Hospital late at night to assess the situation, said officials aware of the matter. The GRP has registered a case based on a complaint filed by the travelling ticket examiner, and the motive behind the attack is yet to be ascertained, police officers aware of the investigation said....
