Jaipur, July 30 -- In a community policing initiative, Rajasthan Police has invited applications for the recruitment of volunteer Village Defence Guards (Gram Rakshaks). These honorary positions will allow selected individuals to serve as police assistants in their villages for a term of two years, without any remuneration. This initiative is being implemented under the provisions of the Rajasthan Police Act, 2007 and the Rajasthan Police (Amendment) Ordinance, 2020. Pankaj Choudhary, Superintendent of Police and Nodal Officer for Community Policing in Rajasthan, said applicants for the Gram Rakshak (Village Defence Volunteer) post must meet specific eligibility criteria. Candidates should have passed at least the 8th grade, be between 40 and 55 years of age, and most importantly, must be permanent residents of the village they wish to serve.
