Jaipur, Nov. 14 -- A political slugfest erupted after a man was found with seven EPIC cards in Sikar's Srimadhopur amid the special intensive revision (SIR) process.
The man, Meghraj Patwa (18), had mistakenly filled up Form-6 multiple times from the Election Commission website last year to apply for a voter card.
The Indian Youth Congress wrote on X, "A youth in Srimadhopur received seven EPIC cards with different numbers at his house after he applied for his voter ID as a fresh voter. When he approached the election commission to delete his duplicate names, the officials started putting pressure on him to sit on the matter instead of taking prompt action."
An election department official, said, "...We will take action against the BLO for his negligence. However, Patwa has filled up only one enumeration form during the SIR and we will remove the duplicate names from the final electoral roll."...
