AIIMS LAUNCHES ANTI-SCABIES bid at tribal centre
JODHPUR, June 17 -- To address neglected tropical diseases in tribal areas, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Jodhpur, in collaboration with the ministry of tribal affairs, Centre, and the state's tribal area development department, launched the Scabies Initiative at the Satellite Tribal Centre on Abu Road in Sirohi district on Monday, officials said.
A medical officer at AIIMS said, "The initiative is an expansion of the successful Scabies Prevention and Relevance of Sanitation & Hygiene programme, which earlier revealed a 34% prevalence of scabies among children in residential tribal schools in Sirohi."
The initiative aims to estimate and identify risk factors of scabies among tribal populations on Abu Road and Pindwara blocks through a community-based approach. htc...
