Jaipur, Nov. 29 -- The special intensive revision (SIR) of the electoral roll in Baran's Anta assembly constituency will be initiated from December 2, the Election Commission declared on Friday. While the SIR process in rest of the 199 constituencies in Rajasthan was started from November 4, the same in Anta was stalled due to a by-poll on November 11 which took place after the then-Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA, Kanwar Lal Meena was convicted and imprisoned with three-year jail term for aiming revolver to a public servant and threatening him in 2005. In its latest order, the ECI, stated, "Bye-elections were underway in 193-Anta Assembly Constituency of Rajasthan, therefore, the SIR exercise couldn't be undertaken as per the schedule announced by the Commission on OCtober 27. In view of the above, SIR in Anta is to be undertaken strictly within the timeline." According to the ECI, the BLOs in Anta's 268 booths will be trained from December 2 to December 7 following which the house-to-house survey will be started on December 8 to distribute the enumeration forms. The first draft roll of Anta will be published on January 12 while the voters may raise their objections and claims till February 11. The final electoral roll of Anta will be published on March 12. Anta has 227,563 voters. Rajasthan was among the 12 states and union territories where the SIR was started from November 4 as part of the Phase 2 after the conduction of the same in Phase 1 in pollbound Bihar since June. The Anta assembly bypoll in Rajasthan's Baran district was won by Congress candidate Pramod Jain Bhaya with a significant margin of 15,612 votes after 20 rounds of counting. Ruling BJP's candidate Morpal Suman was his nearest rival, securing 53,959 votes, while independent candidate Naresh Meena got 53,800 votes. The margin of votes between Morpal Suman and Naresh Meena was only 159. Bhaya was leading since beginning of the counting and Naresh Meena was trailing behind him and Morpal Suman was on third number in the initial rounds but later, Morpal Suman came on second number and Naresh Meena on third....
