ACB seeks sanction against ex-ministers
Jaipur, June 2 -- Rajasthan's Anti Corruption Bureau, has sought a prosecution sanction against another former Congress minister Udailal Anjana from the governor Haribhau Bagade last week in connection to a large level forgery in the Gram Seva Sansthan (GSS), said officials.
The director general of the ACB, Ravi Prakash Meharda, said, "Upon receiving some information about a forgery in the GSS manager hiring process in 2022-23, the ACB has secretly been investigating the matter to gather more details. After a thorough probe, we have found substantial evidence against Anjana and some other key officials of the co-operative department. Last week, we sought an approval from the governor to lodge an FIR against Anjana (the former co-operative minister during the Congress rule) while another application was also made to the department of personnel (DoP) to lodge FIR against the accused officers."
According to the officials, the agency has found that a total 1100 GSS managers were hired in 2022-23 violating the legal hiring process through RSSB and misusing the power.
"After the written exam, two screening committees were set up in every district and the division level to select the candidates. But they picked at least 1,100 such people who either failed the interview or could not meet other eligibility criterias. Yet, they were hired by taking bribes or misusing the power. It was also found that the district collector was not appointed in those committees as per the RSSB protocol," said Meharda.
He further added: "The final list of the selected candidates were also not approved by the registrar of the co-operative department but by the division level committee. We have found substantial evidence regarding Anjana's involvement in the matter by using his power. Now we have sought approval to lodge an FIR against him under section 17A of the Prevention of Corruption Act to launch further probe in the case."
Anjan would be the second Congress minister in the last one years against whom ACB is set to lodge an FIR....
