ACB arrests official taking Rs.30K bribe
Ajmer, Jan. 4 -- Acting on the directions of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Headquarters, the ACB Special Unit (SU), Ajmer on Saturday arrested a cooperative society official while accepting a bribe of Rs.30,000 as part of a sting operation.
The accused has been identified as Parmeshwar Kumar Prajapat, Assistant Manager of the Gram Seva Sahakari Samiti Limited, Dhatol, under Bhinay Panchayat Samiti in Ajmer district.
Director general of police, ACB, Govind Gupta said a complaint was received alleging that the accused had demanded a bribe from the complainant for clearing the compensation amount under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana for the Rabi crop of 2024-25.
The bribe was sought for processing the insurance claim related to the ancestral agricultural land of the complainant and his wife.
As per the complaint, the deal was finalized on December 23, 2025, and the accused agreed to accept Rs.30,000 as illegal gratification.
On January 3, when the accused accepted the bribe amount, the ACB team conducted a trap operation and caught him red-handed.
The accused has been taken into custody and further questioning is underway under the supervision of Additional Director General of Police Smita Srivastava.
The ACB has registered a case under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act and further investigation in the case is in progress, officials aware of the matter said....
