JODHPUR, July 23 -- The central government has appointed seven new judges to the Rajasthan high court, including one permanent judge and six additional judges. Chief justice Kalpathi Rajendran Shriram will administer the oath of office and secrecy to all seven appointees on Wednesday morning at the Principal Bench of the high court in Jodhpur. According to an official notification issued by the ministry of law and justice on July 22, 2025, the President of India, under clause (1) of Article 217 of the Constitution, has appointed Sandeep Taneja as a permanent judge of the Rajasthan high court. Additionally, exercising powers under clause (1) of Article 224 of the Constitution, the President has appointed six others - Baljinder Singh Sandhu, Bipin Gupta, Sanjeet Purohit, Ravi Chirania, Anuroop Singhi, and Sangeeta Sharma - as additional judges of the Rajasthan high court. Their appointments will take effect from the date they assume charge of their respective offices, and they will hold office in the order of seniority as listed in the notification.
