Jaipur, July 14 -- At least seven people were detained on Sunday after two groups in Jaipur's Ramganj area clashed following a minor altercation and pelted stones at each other, police said. Rashi Dogra Dudi, deputy commissioner of police (DCP) Jaipur North, said: "On Saturday night, the control room received information about an altercation between two groups in Paharganj locality in Ramganj. A police team from the nearby Ramganj police station was immediately sent to the spot. Soon, senior police officials also reached the site." She said that though the reason of the altercation is not clear, "Prima facie, it started with a verbal scuffle between two individuals that escalated to a heated exchange between two groups and they got into a fierce clash. The situation is under control now. No one was seriously injured in the incident." Following the development, an additional police force was also deployed across the area while the police also detained seven people and questioned them regarding the altercation," she further said.
