7 arrested for producing fake disability certificates: cops
Bharatpur/Jhalawar, Dec. 2 -- Seven people were arrested in Jhalawar on Monday for allegedly being part of a gang that prepared fake disability certificates to acquire benefits fraudulently from government schemes, said police officers aware of the matter.
The syndicate allegedly exploited government disability welfare schemes by acquiring bank account and identification details from ineligible people on the promise of benefits, and registering them as beneficiaries for government schemes to illegally siphon off the funds and distribute them while keeping 50-70% of the payout as commission, said police.
The accused were identified as E-mitra director Kuldeep Dholi,29, tehsildar's reader Pankaj Gurjar,30, E-mitra director Ravindra Lodha,29, office operator in CMHO office, Yuvraj Lodha,41, operator in tehsildar office Hemant Lodha,23, Rakesh Lodha,28, agent, and Jeetmal Lodha,29, said police.
According to Jhalawar SP Amit Kumar, the men were arrested under the "Operation Shutter Down", which earlier yielded the arrests of the masterminds of the ring, Ramavtar Saini and Vikram Saini. Kuldeep Dholi was the third mastermind, said police, and a reward of Rs.25,000 was placed on his head before he was arrested.
The accused were booked under relevant sections of the BNS and further investigation was on, said police....
