65-yr-old man burnt alive in fire at general store, say cops
Barmer/Pali, March 16 -- A 65-year-old man was burnt alive after a fire broke out in a general store late Saturday night in Pali and spread to the room above where he was sleeping, police said on Sunday.
According to police, the incident occurred around 2:15 am at Amit General Store located at Bhairughat area. A home guard jawan informed the police, following which fire brigade teams were rushed to the spot.
A police officer of Pali Kotwali Police Station said preliminary investigation revealed that the fire started due to unknown reasons and gradually spread to the room above. A retired teacher, Rajendra Kumar Sharma (65) was sleeping in the room and became unconscious due to smoke, and was later burnt alive. Police have registered a case and the probe is underway....
